“A Medium Speaks to You”, a performative listening session and reading by Eliana Otta happened at Rozenstraat, Amsterdam on March 22, as part of the Sonic Acts Biennial, thanks to the invitation of Angelikí Tzortzakaki.

In A Medium Speaks to You, Eliana Otta blends participatory listening with performative readings. The evening begins with a poem and moves through songs, questions, textual references, and collectively performed actions. Conceived as a farewell ritual for many kinds of loss — personal and collective — the work creates a space where the boundaries between “me” and “you” begin to soften, and the experience becomes something shared.
 
The artist also invites those who wish to take part: writing something brief, speaking a few phrases aloud, drawing something simple, or even dancing if it feels right in the moment.

“A Medium Speaks to You”, una sesión de escucha performativa y lectura a cargo de Eliana Otta, tuvo lugar en Rozenstraat, Ámsterdam, el 22 de marzo, como parte de la Bienal Sonic Acts, gracias a la invitación de Angelikí Tzortzakaki.

En “A Medium Speaks to You”, Eliana Otta combina la escucha participativa con lecturas performativas. La velada comienza con un poema y continúa con canciones, preguntas, referencias textuales y acciones colectivas. Concebida como un ritual de despedida para diversas formas de pérdida —personal y colectiva—, la obra crea un espacio donde los límites entre “yo” y “tú” comienzan a difuminarse, y la experiencia se convierte en algo compartido.

La artista también invita a quienes deseen participar: escribir algo breve, recitar algunas frases en voz alta, dibujar algo sencillo o incluso bailar si les apetece en ese momento.
