Durante el mes de mayo organizamos, junto a un equipo increíble de amigxs artistas, curadores, comunicadores, diseñadores y mil oficios, la campaña Dibujos por la Amazonía. Más de 400 artistas donaron cerca de 500 dibujos, para recaudar fondos para el Vicariato Apostólico de Iquitos, Radio Ucamara y la Asociación Indígena Coshikox de Ucayali, instituciones que juegan un rol fundamental ante el avance del COVID-19 en la Amazonía Peruana.

Hasta la fecha los dibujos han sido vendidos casi en su totalidad. Se puede donar hasta el día de mañana, pero en adelante, si deseas colaborar, puedes comunicarte directamente con esas u otras organizaciones en la región. La situación probablemente dure y requiera de nuestra organización y solidaridad más adelante nuevamente.

During May, we organized, with an amazing group of artists, curators, communicators, designers and more, the campaign Drawings for the Amazon. More than 400 artists donated almost 500 drawings, to gather funds for the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos, Ucamara Radio and the Indigenous Asociation Coshikox, from Ucayali, institutions playing a major role against the spread of COVID-19 in the Peruvian Amazon.

The drawings have been almost sold out until now. It is possible to donate until tomorrow, but after that, if you wish to collaborate, you can communicate directly with those or other organizations in the region. The situation probably will last and require from our organization and solidarity again.

El 01/02, dentro del programa de verano de Bisagra, organicé una excursión, mezcla de reconocimiento de territorio, lectura y escritura colectiva. Este fue el texto de invitación:

Una tarde para alejarnos de la playa tal cual la experimentamos cotidianamente en Lima. Un encuentro con un entorno sin ruido, sin comercio, sin comodidades ni antojos. Un recorrido silencioso dedicado a percibir y buscar palabras para describir lo que nos rodea. Un chapuzón, un atardecer y algunas historias sobre pueblos donde criaturas muy distintas entre sí, se escuchan unas a otras y comparten los mismos lenguajes.

Naming territories without humans

On 01/02, as part of Bisagra´s summer program, I organized an excursion, a mixture between recognizing a territory, collective reading and experimental writing. This was the invitation text:

An afternoon to be away from the beach as we usually experience it in Lima. An encounter with a noiseless landscape, without trade, comfort or cravings. A silent tour dedicated to perceive and search for words that describe what surround us. A dive, a sunset and some stories about places where very different creatures hear each other and share the same languages.

Fue un gusto ser parte de la presentación del vinilo de Salón DADA – Col Corazón en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima, el 06/02, junto a Susana Torres, Támira Basallo y Luis Alvarado. El vinilo es otro éxito de Buh Records.

El 29/01 presenté en el Centro Cultural de la Universidad de San Marcos, Lima, la performance Llamado a algunos lectores, una lectura (semi) colectiva de un poema de José María Arguedas, que pone en cuestión los sentidos comunes dominantes sobre el progreso y nuestra relación con la naturaleza. Mientras Arguedas nos convoca a una experiencia de compromiso vital con el entorno, de aprendizajes expandidos y corporeizados, yo intentó poner en diálogo la vigencia de su escritura, con las urgencias políticas de un contexto que amenaza la reproducción y la defensa de la vida.

La performance se presentó en el contexto de la exposición sobre el colectivo de fotografía social Interfoto, curada por Augusto del Valle.

On the occasion of E N C HA N T É E S, a collection of studies (of joy and) of imagination, the unclassifiable and exciting encounter of creators hosted by choreographer Alix Eynaudi at TQ Wien, Sabina Holzer wrote the beautiful text Who are we and how can be share?

On December the 5th I´ll make the workshop Traced, whispered touch in the framework of Enchantéés, invited by Alix Eynaudi, who gently expanded the invitation made to her by the TQW Explore program.

Traced, whispered touch

An invitation to look closely at the physical and invisible threads connecting body parts and people, to read between the lines of our movements and to pay attention to the messages of our stillness. A shared moment where slowness can bring us closer and fastness can help us to avoid overthinking. To play within the intersections of words, extremities and ideas, while creating drawn spells as gifts that transform, merge and dissolve our possible contours.

In October we started the Reading and Knitting Club at Ntizeza, in Athens. Anastasia Diavasti and me hosted the first sessions and the upcoming one had continued organically, thanks to the enthusiasm of the participants. Invitation to the first sessions:

Reading evenings on books with critical approach to culture and politics within the current global uncertainties and conflicts, accompanied by knitting and tea.

The first book we will discuss is ‘Depression, A Public Feeling’ by Ann Cvetkovich, who combines memoir and essay in search of ways of writing about depression as a cultural and political phenomenon that offer alternatives to medical models. She describes her own experience of professional pressures, political hopelessness and intellectual blockage, considering the idea that feeling bad constitutes the lived experience of neoliberal capitalism.

On November the 9th I made at EIGHT / ΤΟ ΟΧΤΩ the workshop Poo*/(*&%oool? Iii/%$#&%/iii? Tiii!¡$!%#$iiiics?

Text from the invitation to participate:

A two-hour encounter to discuss the meanings related to and included in the word “politics”. How do we relate to that word today? For what do we use it and for what can it be useful?
Through conversations and experimental writing, we will dissect this word, trying to understand and expand our approaches to its potentialities and limitations. Working together with texts, and free associations, we will imagine the political constellations that could make sense to our current urgencies and desires.

Hasta el 27/09 estoy en Madrid, invitada por Violeta Janeiro y hablarenarte, en el marco de su recientemente estrenado programa de residencias, Planta Alta. Estoy tratando de aprender un poco de las organizaciones surgidas a raíz de la crisis, para pensar conexiones con el contexto griego y mi investigación a curso sobre procesos colectivos de duelo. Entre otras cosas, hemos visitado a los Yayoflautas y realizado una sesión de Cocina silenciosa, continuando una práctica iniciada por Rodrigo Andreolli, en la residencia que compartimos en Atenas, el 2017.  Acá unas fotos de ese encuentro donde aguzamos mucho los sentidos, porque además de no hablar, tuvimos que cocinar por ratos a la luz de las velas, ya que se fue la electricidad varias veces.
