From October 22th to 31st 2021, the show I curated, Lost and shared: Approaches to collective mourning towards transformative politics could be visited at One Minute Space in Athens. Ten intense days of workshops, performances, screenings and discussions happened as part of the research for my PhD project.
«Acknowledging the simultaneous processes of loss that shape contemporary local and planetarian crises, artists, thinkers and performers address the current meaning of mourning. For it is within grieving and struggling realities that new political forces shall be created to reconnect ourselves with love, desire and transformation.»

Desde hace unas semanas vengo realizando el proyecto Escuchando a la política, con la complicidad de Bisagra. El primer podcast fue con la participación de Matheus Calderón y puede oírse aquí.
La palabra «política» suele ser usada como algo negativo, relacionado a intereses ocultos, privados, subalternos. ¿Cómo nos relacionamos con esa palabra quienes creemos que nuestras acciones e interacciones en la vida social, incluso y especialmente, en el ámbito privado, están cargadas fuertemente de contenidos políticos?, ¿De qué manera nos es útil y cómo podría ser más útil esa palabra?, ¿Cómo adecuarla a nuestros deseos y urgencias? Para iniciar conversaciones sobre estas y otras preguntas, le enviamos a Matheus el siguiente cuestionario:
1 – ¿Cómo entiendes la palabra política?
2 – ¿Cuál es tu relación con la política?
3 – ¿En quiénes piensas cuando la escuchas?
4 – ¿A qué te gustaría que se asocie o qué te gustaría que se incluya en su significado, que no se incluye ahora?
5 – ¿Qué eventos políticos marcaron/atravesaron tu vida (niñez, adolescencia, adultez)? ¿Cómo te afectaron a un nivel íntimo?
6 – Menciona un libro o película que relaciones con ella y explica la relación.
7 – Menciona de tres a cinco canciones que relaciones con ella (esto es importante, pues las usaremos para intercalar con tu voz en el podcast)
8 – ¿Cuál consideras el evento político más significativo del año?
9 – ¿Podrías identificar y describir un evento político que haya tenido un resultado feliz o positivo en el Perú?
10 – ¿Podrías imaginar y describir un evento político capaz de cambiar el rumbo del mundo hacia la dirección que consideras positiva?
11 – ¿Cuál es tu consigna favorita de una marcha a la que has asistido? ¿Podrías cantarla/gritarla?
12 – ¿Podrías leer un poema con contenido político? (Si no te sientes cómodx haciéndolo, por favor mándanos el título y nombre del autor o autora para leerlo nosotrxs)

Departing from an artistic and theoretical approach of parenthood, the presentations aim to question the prevailing motherhood and fatherhood conceptualizations, the social mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion and the condition of biological and non-biological parenthood in social and legal context. Adopting a dialectical method between personal and political, we will attempt rethinking “art and parenthood” in a context where roles and identities are highlighted as topics of open and continuous negotiation.
Talks, interventions, performative actions, films and videos, painting, sculpture, photographs and literature, will constitute a field of meetings where moms and dads, daughters, sons, cousins, brothers, aunts and further relatives, will converse on gender identities, birth, medicalization and performativity of the female, feminized or effeminate body. Which is the role of works and expressions approaching body and memory politics, stereotypical -or not- representations of kinship and children, in a social context redefined by “different parenthood”? How can these “kinship articulations” constitute a referential artistic field that can be studied or archived?
The gynaikopeda encounters will take place in TWIXTlab on the 30th of May and the 6th of June, with the contributions of groups, duos, individuals, parents, those who want or don’t want to become parents, as well as those who held a position in respect.
